The Day for Life 31 May 2010
The Day for Life falls on the feast of the Visitation of Our Lady to Elizabeth, each year, 31 May. It celebrates the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. The theme for 2010 is Life is changed, not ended - a phrase taken from the first Preface of the Masses for the dead. Please take a Day for Life handout today and perhaps rediscover the prayer for a happy death while reflecting on our tradition of care for the dying.
A special collection for the work of the church in the protection of human life will be taken next Sunday 6 June, as mandated by the Bishop's conference of Scotland.
